You Do the Math - For-Profit or Charity Organized Event

Charities are always looking for creative ways to meet their fundraising goals especially ways that involve the latest trends. Below are two real examples of how a nonprofit can incorporate a color run into their fundraising plan.
Example #1
Charity becomes the charity partner with a for profit color 5K event
6,000 registrants
Charity received $20,000

Example #2
Charity organized run by community volunteers
800 registrants
Charity received $24,000
Also gains loyal volunteers and potential long term donors

There are absolutely pros and cons for each route you choose to follow. Maybe we can dig deeper into that in a future blog.
